Episode 7 – Hookman                                     Written by John Shibhan

Scariness factor: this episode is genuinely scary.  A typical slasher episode.

Opening: Starts at Theta Sorority, Eastern Iowa University. Girl (Laura Sorensen) dresses for a date with a fraternity brother. The guy,  Richard, parks in sinister woods under a bridge trestle on nine mile road. A figure with a hook lurks in the woods.  Then an invisible hook gouges street sign, car, strings up  guy, cut up.

Summary: Cut to Sam and Dean drinking coffee. Dean reads about the killing “by an invisible attacker”, and suggests to Sam that “Dad would check it out”, so they go there, as part of looking for their father and because it may be their kind of case.

Sam figures out that in 1862 a preacher, Jacob Carnes was arrested for killing 13 prostitutes – some in their beds, some hung upside down from limbs of trees as a warning against the sins of the flesh. Happened at nine mile road – same place the fraternity boy was killed.  Dean “Nice job, Dr. Venckman. Let’s check it out.”

Story development:
1.       First use of rock salt shotgun cartridges.  Dean tell Sam that since salt disperses ghosts, filling the cartridges with rock salt make them into a weapon against vengeful spirits.
2.       Dean salts and burns the bones of the 1862 preacher, but the hookman attacks Laura’s father AFTER this ---they reason that they have to find the hook.
3.       Library research – shows the hook was donated to the parish and melted down. The boys break into the parish to find anything silver and burn it in the furnace in the basement.
4.       Laura comes to the church feeling guilty about wishing her father would be punished and them him being attacked. Sam once again plays the sympathetic ear.  And then the Hookman shows up.
5.       Sam is the quick thinker, spotting Laura’s necklace, out of silver.
Dean is the amazing man of action - saving them with the shotgun. Then, he hears the hookman coming...........
He tosses the shotgun and 2 cartridges to Sam, and runs to the furnace with the necklace.

Brothers relationship:
At the end, Dean goes to the car but watches behind it where Laura is thanking Sam for saving her life and her father.  It looks as though he is expecting them to kiss, and shakes his head when Sam just comes to the car.  He tells Sam “you know we could stay” but Sam just shakes his head. Clearly not over Jessica.

Drive by totals: hook-fu, shotgun –fu
Killed: 2
Saved: 2 (if you don’t count the boys) – Laura and her father.
Dean saves Sam ( twice )

Episode 6 – Skin    Written by  John Shiban

Setting: St. Louis, Missouri  (above and below ground)
This is a hard episode to watch, because of the gore, violence, and special effects of the skinwalker’s transformation.  But  it’s important in the canon because the monster says some of Dean’s inner thoughts. Since Dean doesn’t talk about his feelings, this gives us a look into what might be going on. Of course, maybe the skinwalker is making some of it up, or maybe he’s only picking the things that will torment Sam to hear, and leaving out anything positive.  We have to sort that out ourselves.

MOW – Skinwalker

Scariness factor: creepy pursuit thru sewers, creepy substitutions, VERY icky shape-change
Drive-by totals: Blood and gore – several bloody victims, nasty shed shapeshifter ooze, nasty shapeshifting.  Tire-iron-fu, knife-fu, beer bottle-fu, knife-fu, bookcase-fu, pool cue-fu, choking, two silver bullets to the heart – one dead shapeshifter.
Dead: 1.     People tied up and beaten but living: 5 (2 women, Sam (twice), and Dean (once)
Saved:1  (plus possible future victims)
Dean and Sam whump factor: Very high. This episode should get an honorable mention for number of possible concussions (about 5).  You see what looks like both boys beating the crap out of each other because Sam is fighting the shapeshifter who is in Dean’s shape.

Summary: Sam and Dean are gassing up the Impala when Sam’s college friend, Becky, texts him that her brother, Zach, is accused of killing his girlfriend. Becky says he was with her at the time that security camera footage showed him going to his girlfriend’s house. Later that night, Zach found her beaten up, bloody, and dead, tied to a chair. He called the police but they arrested him because of the security tape showing him coming home at 10:30, shortly before she was killed.
Special knowledge: how to kill a shapeshifter – silver bullet to the heart.

The brothers ask to look at the crime scene. Pretending Dean is a cop from Arizona.
The brothers’ relationship:
1.       Dean teasing Sam “Sam wears women’s underwear”.  Also, about why the shapeshifter choose to visit Becky looking like Dean “he’s not stupid – he chose the handsome one.”
2.       The shapeshifter says what Dean’s is thinking – that he’s jealous of Sam. Sam got to go to college and he stayed behind with Dad. Sam has friends and he doesn’t. He expects to be alone because “Sooner or later, everyone leaves.”   I think this last bit really is what Dean is thinking.
3.       The two of them drive off together in the Impala and there is a little foreshadowing:
Dean – “Sorry man.”
Sam – “About what?”
Dean – “I really wish things could be different, man. I wish you could just be Joe College.”
Sam – “That’s ok. You know, truth is, even at Stanford, deep down I never really fit in.”
Dean – “Well, that’s ‘cause you’re a freak.
Sam – “Yeah, Thanks!
Dean – “ That’s ok, I’m a freak too. I’m right there with you.”
Sam – “I know you are”.

Highlights:
1.       Dean taking his shirt off. Well, actually, it’s the shapeshifter. And it immediately starts “shedding” Dean’s image (VERY grossly). But heh, first you have a couple seconds to appreciatively “worhip at the shrine” of Jensen Ackels chest J

2. Pop culture reference
Sam : “That’s the thing. He didn’t just look like you – he was you.  At least he was becoming you. “
Dean “whadda you mean?”
Sam “ I don’t know – it’s like he was downloading your thoughts and memories.”
Dean: “You mean like the Vulcan mind-meld?”
Sam: “Yeah, something like that.  I mean Maybe that’s why he doesn’t just kill us.
Dean: “ Maybe he needs to keep us alive...psychic connection.”
3.       Dean’s signature line “Son of a bitch”,  uttered by the shapeshifter.
Body count: 1
Monsters killed: 1
Saved: 2 – Becky and Sam (saved by Dean).

Bloody Mary - "here's blood in your eye!"

Episode 5 – Bloody  Mary     Story by Eric Kripke, Teleplay by Ron Milbauer and Terri Hughes Burton

MOW: duh…
Scariness factor:  Well, this episode starts with a huge creepiness factor – think “The Ring”.   Girls sleep-over (incredibly stupidly) calls up “Bloody Mary” looking in the mirror,  big pool of blood and corpse #1 ensues

Sam and Dean “whump” factor:  the brothers definitely get some hurt put on them.  Sam tries to take the risky job, and Dean has to save them both.
Commentary:  develops both the relationship and one of the season themes – what’s Sam secret?
Sam and Dean’s relationship:
1.       Dean’s worried:  opens on the brothers with Sam having his recurring nightmare of Jessica’s death.  Dean wakes him up - they’re in the Impala. Dean continues to just look at Sam, clearly concerned.  Sam “were you thinking I was having a nightmare? “   Dean”yeah, another one”  Sam – “well, at least I got some sleep.” Dean “you know, sooner or later, we’re going to have to talk about this”.

2.       This shows there is still a pattern of not talking about things (which carries on in the series to truly epic proportions).   In an earlier episode,  Sam overhears Dean talk to a kid about seeing something bad happen to their mom and trying to be brave everyday for her  - and says “I never knew that before”.   Sam tries to hide that he isn’t sleeping much but Dean sees thru that.  And here,  they are still avoiding the conversation about Sam’s nightmares.

3.       Sam feels guilty about Jessica’s death, and blames himself, not Dean, but won’t tell Dean why. There’s a scene in the motel – Sam has another nightmare.  Then later he hints that Bloody  Mary will come after him (they’ve discovered that she attacks only people who have a secret where somebody dies).  Dean tries to convince Sam that Jessica’s death is not his fault, but Sam says “I haven’t told you everything” …then refuses to explain further.  Dean brings up that he’s the one who took Sam away to help look for their dad, so he wasn’t there to protect Jessica.  Sam tells Dean “I don’t blame you”

4.       No matter how important Dean is to him, he won’t share his secret. Closing:
Dean: Sam, now that it’s all over,  that secret, I need you to tell me what it is.”
Sam   “Look, you’re my brother, and I’d die for you. But there’ some things I need to keep to myself.

What’s revealed?   Sam summons Bloody Mary so they can trap her in her mirror and break it.  He sees his own reflection which accuses him, as Sam’s eyes start bleeding.  Mirror reveals that the nightmares Sam’s having, seeing Jessica bleeding, on the ceiling, then flames burning her up, are not new. That he had them for days before Jessica died. But, mirror Sam accuses, “you were so desperate to be normal “  that  he ignored them and pretended they were just dreams. Didn’t warn Jessica, didn’t stay there to protect her.
Protective big brother theme:
Shown earlier with Dean worrying about Sam’s nightmares.  At the end, Dean comes to the rescue,  smashing the mirror.
He cradles his bleeding brother calling him “Sammy!!”.  His brother replies in the tone implying it’s for the thousandth time “It’s Sam”.

Then he has to save both of them, and he does, brilliantly.  I ain’t sayin’ how.

Body count:  from the “monster” , 3  (I’m including herself)
Saved: 3  (counting Sam and Dean)

Phantom Traveler - winchesters on a plane

Episode 4:  Phantom Traveler : written by Richard Hatem

MOW : Phantom Traveler…or vengeful ghost?..or demon?  Someone on a plane rips open the emergency door (which takes thousands of pounds of pressure) and causes it to crash.  EVP on the cockpit voice recorder (what, you don’t watch ghost hunters? ) says “No survivors”.

Scariness factor: Not inherently very scary but some great moments of tension, some fabricated out of how it is shot (looming shape behind Dean on the plane).
Blood: not much

Sam and Dean whump factor: Dean suffers emotional distress.     Oh, yeah, and both of them get tossed around pretty good by the demon…..and turbulence.

Not my favorite episode but it has some cool points, and is definitely important in terms of series development.

Opening: after initial plane crash, shows the boys in a motel.  Dean is sleeping,  Sam comes in with coffee. We find out Sam is not sleeping much due to nightmares about Jessica’s death, and also “the job, it gets to you”.  Dean says you can’t let it get to you. Sam says “you’re never afraid?” and Dean says “no, not really. “    Ironic when we see later how afraid of flying Dean is.

Character development:  This episode shows, and challenges, some of Sam’s image of himself and the family.
1. Jerry, a man Dean and his father helped once, calls the boys to Pennsylvania. He tells Sam “Well he (your dad) was real proud of you, I could tell. You know he talked about you all the time.”  Dean looks over at Sam like he’s thinking “See! “ as Sam says “he did?”, looking surprised and thoughtful
2. Also – when they tell Jerry that their Dad is tied up in another case, he says “we’re missin’ the old man, but get  Sam – even trade, huh!”   Sam “Not even close”.  (a bit of foreshadowing of how powerful  Sam becomes?)
3. Snappy quote:  Sam (outside copy center when Dean comes out with new fake ID’s)  “Homeland Security? That’s pretty illegal, even for us.”
The brothers’ relationship:
1.       When they are questioning one of the survivors, Dean is very direct and at one point Sam gives him a glare when he is being insensitive. Then they fall into what becomes a series regular pattern – Sam handles being sensitive and sympathetic and gets the victim to talk.
2.       Dean – is unsure about this job and the two of them being able to handle it.  He looks worried. Sam says “What?”. Dean “I don’t know, man. This isn’t our normal gig. I mean – demons! They don’t want anything – just death and destruction for its own sake. I mean, this is big.  I wish dad was here.”   Sam (quietly) “yeah. Me too.”  (more foreshadowing)
3.       Sam finds out Dean is afraid of flying!  First reaction ?   Sam “alright, I’ll go. I’ll do this one on my own.” (how sweet is that!  No judgement, just support!).  Dean “what, are you nuts? You said it yourself, the plane’s going to crash!”   Sam “Dean, we can do this together, or I can do this one by myself – I’m not seeing a third option here!”    Dean – “come on! Really!? “   and of course, Dean goes. Because taking care of Sammy on the job trumps his fear of flying (and death by plane crash).
4.       Sam helps Dean get control of himself (so he is not vulnerable to the demon)
Ok, I changed my mind. I love this episode. Because we get to see Dean being brave, when he is really scared.  (Jenson does a fabulous job here). And to see the brothers working together so well.

Humor: My favorite part of the investigation into the passenger who was witnessed opening the emergency exit while the plane was in flight is the boys questioning his widow.
Sam “you were married to him, how long?”
Widow “13 years”
Sam “and in all that time did you ever notice anything …unusual about him? Anything out of the ordinary?”
Widow “well…..”(long pause while Dean and Sam exchange glances – here it comes…) “…he had acid reflux, if that’s what you mean.”

Yeah.  That’s what they meant.

Series arc:
1.       first appearance of the suits.

To get into the NTSB warehouse with the plane wreckage, Sam and Dean buy black suits (from “Mort’s for style”) to go with their fake ID’s and cover identities.   Dean (scratching his shirt front uncomfortably) “Man, I look like one of the Blues Brothers.”  Sam “No you don’t . You look more like a 7th grader at his first dance.”  Dean “I hate this!”.
2. Technical skills – Dean uses an EMF meter (homemade from a busted up walkman).  It identifies the emergency door handle, and later, the demon.
3. Technical knowledge – it has a residue of sulfur – indicating a demon.   Also later they discuss that demons generally possess someone “with a chink in their armor” – addiction,  emotional instability, etc.
4. First appearance of a demon – with completely black eyes.
4. Development as hunters – Sam looks up a ritual and the two of them use holy water and an exorcism to deal with the demon.  First exorcism seen on the show.

Saved: 100 people on the plane,  (plus any future victims of that demon, because they send it back to Hell permanently).

Closing scene – discussing the case leaning against the back of the Impala.  They drive off – shot of license plate  “KAS  2Y5”  (Cas?  To year 5? (Kripke had the series plotted out for 5 seasons))

Episode 3: Dead in the Water                     Written by: Sera Gamble and Raelle Tucker

(I love this picture)

Notable guest star: Amy Acker (“Fred” from the show Angel)

MOW: Lake monster?  Don’t want to spoil it.
Scariness factor:  really not too scary except the attempted drowning in the bathtub.  More left to the imagination.

Dean and Sam whump factor: they’re not really beaten up in this one.  It’s the civilians who are in danger, or get killed.

Themes
Opening: More of the “sexy Dean” theme:
One of the most adorable images of Dean is in this episode as he has a pen in his mouth and then looks up and smiles blindingly at a pretty girl.  Oh yeah, she wants him. There’s a mutual connection. Then Sammy throws cold water with his stone cold angst.  You do see this is, if not a “carefree” Dean, still one with less of the weight of the world on his shoulders than later in the series.  He tells Sam “you know, we are allowed to have fun.  THAT (indicating the waitress) is fun.”

Sam angst theme : he doesn’t care about hunting monsters, he just wants to look for their dad so they can hunt down the demon that killed Jessica. Complains that the trail is getting cold. Oh, and he’s got NO interest in girls because of his recent bereavement.

Brother’s relationship:  Dean has a look when Sam fails to acknowledge the pretty waitress – almost a wince like he realizes Sam is still too hurt by losing Jessica to pay attention to other girls, and immediately drops the subject showing concern for Sam’s feelings.
He takes Sam to task about his attitude, and takes the leadership role “you know we’re going to find Dad, Sam, but we’re going to kill every evil thing between here and there.”  Sam gives way and follows Dean’s lead.
Character development: Dean – we see him develop a relationship with a troubled kid who saw his dad killed by the mysterious lake monster.  He wins over the kid’s trust by sharing something real about seeing something bad when he was little.  “Maybe you don’t think anyone will listen to you, or believe you, but I will.”  Clue to how isolated the hunter lifestyle left Dean when he was growing up.
He gets the kid to draw a picture of what he saw, and later gets some valuable clues.

Dean’s speech to the kid, Lucas.
“You’re scared. That’s ok.  When I was your age I saw something bad happen to my mom, and I was scared too.  I didn’t want to talk, just like you. But see, my Mom, I know she wanted me to be brave. I think about that every day, and I do my best to be brave. And maybe your dad wants you to be brave too.”

Note: I didn’t think Dean saw what happened to his mom, but if you look at the pilot, he is standing in the yard holding Sam and looking up at the window ---so maybe he sees something from there.

Lucas looks him right in the eye for the first time, and hands him a particular drawing.
This exchange, among other things, gives some insight into Dean’s character, explaining his bravery as trying to live up to what his mom would want.
Sam sees the whole exchange, looking surprised when Dean says he was scared.  Later he starts to talk with Dean about it, but Dean quickly breaks up any sentiment  -“Oh God, we’re not going to have to hug now, are we?”

This is a good episode about the brothers’ relationship.  The mom (Amy Ackers) and her son are outstanding guest stars. Also, she gives Dean a kiss at the end and it is more a “thanks for saving my son” and he has an interesting look on his face – like “hmm, it’s possible to kiss someone and it not be about sex”
Body count: 4   Saved: 2

Wendigo - a new color?

Wendigo – Episode 2   Written by Eric Kripke.

MOW : Wendigo (monster that developed from person who resorts to cannibalism repeatedly)
Scariness factor:  the Wendigo is more scary because you can’t see him at first.  Plus shock from nightmare scene.
Sam and Dean whump factor: Very beaten up Dean with suppressed groaning, recovering enough to heroically kill the evil SOB. His cloth jacket is shredded – more justification for the leather one he usually wears.
Opening: starts with “what happened before” and “22 years ago” flashback, ending with last scene of previous episode.  Sam and Dean looking at the weapons in the trunk of the Impala as Sam says      “We’ve got work to do”.

.
Plot summary:
Campers – 2 tents in woods. One guy goes out for a “call of nature”, hears rustling, then growling, than a loud growl then the guys in the tents hear a scream. One looks out, gets pulled out, screams. Other one turns off light in his tent and zips it shut, sees shadowy growling shape outside.  Claws rip thru tent. Pretty scary unknown.

Cut to Sam taking flowers to Jessica’s grave, bending down to put them on the headstone, and an arm reaches up out of the dirt and grabs his arm.  Ack! Sam jerks awake in the Impala –another nightmare.

Dean actually offers to let him drive. Sam “look, you’re worried about me, and I get it. But I’m perfectly ok.”
They discuss –find dad first. What killed Jessica is what killed their mom, and it is showing up after 22 years –they need to find their dad to find the thing that killed Jessica.

They head off to coordinates that were in their Dad’s journal “Dean 34 -111”
Ask some questions, find the sister and brother of one of the missing campers. She’s worried cause he hasn’t checked in via his satellite phone for 3 days.  She’s hired a guide to go look for him. Sam and Dean show up and go along, pretending to be park rangers (fake ID), not very convincingly.

They find the campsite, tents torn to shreds and bloody.  Hear a call “help me” but it’s trying to lure them out. The boys figure out it is a Wendigo and Sam explains the legend. They try to talk the others into going back because it is so dangerous, but the sister won’t give up. So they set up camp.
Technical knowledge: Sam and Dean surround the camp with Anasazi symbols drawn in the dirt, which Dean says it can’t cross.
Series development and Sam and Dean character development:
Sam loses his temper arguing with the guide the sister hired, Roy. That night, Sam and Dean talk near the campfire:
Dean “No, you’re not fine. You’re like a powderkeg.  I’m supposed to be the belligerent one, remember”
Sam “Dad’s not here. We know that – he would have left us a message, a sign. Right?”
Dean – “You’re probably right. I don’t think dad’s ever been to lost creek.”
Sam. “Then let’s get these people back to town, go find dad. Why are we still even here?”
Dean  holds out the journal: “This is why. This book. This is dad’s single most valuable possession. Everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he’s passed it on to us.. I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business.”
Sam “that makes no sense – why doesn’t he just call us?  Why doesn’t he just tell us what he wants, tell us where he is? “
Dean “ the way I see it, dad’s given us a job and I intend to do it.”
Sam.”.no I got to find Dad. I’ve got to find Jessica’s killer. It’s the only thing I can think about it. ”
Dean “Ok,all right, Sam,  we’ll find him, I promise. Listen to me, You’ve got to prepare yourself. The search could take a while.  And all that anger – you can’t keep it burning over the long haul.  It will kill you. You got to have patience, man“
Sam “how do you do it? How does dad do it?

Dean  “For one, man, I figure, our family’s so screwed to hell.  Maybe we can help some others – makes it a little more bearable.   I’ll tell you what else helps –killing as many evil sons of bitches as I possibly  can.”

Then Wendigo tries to draw them out. The “guide” with them shoots, and then leaves the circle. Sam and Dean follow but it gets Roy, the guide.

They follow the trail. Then it grabs Dean and the sister. Dean leaves a trail of M and M’s which Sam and the other brother follow. They find the “meat locker” and cut down Dean, the sister, and her brother who is still alive.  They find some flair guns in the packs it has carried and put there, and try to sneak out. Dean kills the Wendigo with the flair gun.

Outside the ranger station, an ambulance prepares to cart off the brother to the hospital as the other brother and Sam lie to the rangers about a BIG grizzly.
Dean says goodbye to the sister.  Firmly establishes Dean as a skirtchaser.  Sister says “so really, I don’t know how to thank you” and Dean gives her the smiling leer.   She grins and says “Must you cheapen the moment?”  and he grins back “Yeah!”

Off the family go in the ambulance.

Saved: 2

Closing:  some classic moments....
Iconic leaning on the hood of the Impala and talking over the hunt.
Dean says “Man, I hate camping”  Sam “Me too.”
Dean “ Sam, you know we’re going to find dad, right?”
Sam “yeah.  But in the meantime – I’m driving”   Dean tosses him the keys. They do the doublemint twins bit opening the doors and getting in the car in sync.
Iconic closing scene.off on the road in the Impala driving towards the camera

Pilot - The brothers

Episode 1:  Pilot                                 Screenplay by Eric Kripke
Scariness factor: Suspense and tension as woman in white it trying to kill Sam. Few seconds of very scary special effects as vengeful spirit woman in white is dragged to hell by her vengeful spirit kids who go all disgusting and ectoplasmy.
Sam and Dean whump factor: Good Sam whumping, Dean to the rescue.

MOW  (monster of the week)= Lady in White.  Appears by highway, picked up by hitchhikers who are never seen again. In this case she went crazy after her husband was unfaithful and drowned her children and could “never go home” because she was afraid to face her kids.
First scenes: John and Mary Winchester, young Dean, baby Sam.  Mary wakes up hearing something from intercom in baby’s room. Goes in, sees a man standing there, thinks it’s John. Goes downstairs and sees John asleep in front of the TV – runs back upstairs alone(that was stupid!) and then you hear her scream. When John comes in, sees blood dripping into crib-looks up and sees wife on ceiling with her abdomen cut open, and then she bursts into flame. He gathers up Sam and runs out, wakes up Dean and hands him Sam and tells him to run outside.  Then goes back, but has to flee due to the fire.

Next scene – Sam at college. Establishes girlfriend, and “you know how I feel about Halloween”. She is taking him to a Halloween party but he won’t dress up.  There, they talk with friends and discuss his LSAT score and his future.
Next- in their apartment.  Sam hears a noise – sees a figure in the living room. Jumps it. Some fast-paced karate and he’s on the floor with Dean leaning over him.  Says “Dean, you scared the crap out of me” and Dean “that’s cause you’re out of practice”. Sam trips him and then he’s on top of Dean and Dean says “ok, maybe not”.   Establishes they both know how to fight.  Dean meets his girlfriend, Jessica and immediately leers and makes a pass.  Yea, character development for Dean.
Discuss finding their dad who has disappeared on a “hunting trip”.  Sam says he’ll be ok, but Dean is worried. They argue about being raised in the life – Sam says their mom wouldn’t have wanted this for them.  Asks why Dean was not with their dad and Dean says he was doing his own case (dude, I’m 26!).

At one point they argue and Sam says even if their dad finds and kills what killed their mom, it wouldn’t make any difference.  Dean grabs Sam and says “don’t talk about Mom like that”.  Later, Sam apologizes for what he said. Dean says “hey, no chick-flick moments” and Sam first says “Jerk” and Dean responds “bitch”.

Ending – After they deal with the woman in white, Dean brings Sam back for his interview.  Mentions “we made a good team”.  Sam nods – you get the feeling he has some hero worship for Dean. Goes in, finds Jessica on the ceiling just like his mom. Room bursts into flame. Dean kicks in the door -  no explanation for why he’s back because he was driving off when Sam came indoors.  He pulls Sammy out of the fire and outside.
Closing scene – Sam behind the Impala, loading a sawed off shotgun and dropping it in the trunk. Dean comes over, looks at him,  and Sam says “We’ve got work to do” and slams the trunk.

Note: this episode not only establishes Sam as brainy, it establishes Dean as a wiseass.   There’s him fighting with Sam in Sam’s apartment and taunting him about being out of practice. And then there’s Dean being arrested for using a fake credit card to rent a motel room by the very police officer he’d flashed a US Marshall’s ID to earlier that day.  Officer” Fake Marshalls, fake credit card, fake ID – is there anything about you that’s real?”  Dean  (with a smirk) “My boobs.”  Yeah—face slammed into cruiser to be handcuffed for that one.
Credits : Jared Padelecki (Sam)  and Jenson Ackles (Dean), Samantha Smith (Mary Winchester), Adrienne Palicki (Jessica), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (John Winchester).

Deaths shown: 4 (Sam and Dean's mother, Jessica, 2 victims of Woman in white)
Saved: unknown number of future victims of Lady in White
